BIOGRAFIE

Tahasin Tolga Yayalar

Tolga Yayalar composes both instrumental and electroacoustic music, focusing on the ways acoustic detail and electronic transformation shape one another. His works have been performed by Le Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, Alarm Will Sound, Trio Amos, Ensemble FA, Callithumpian Consort, and the Orchestre National de Lorraine, and featured at Acht Brücken Köln, MaerzMusik Berlin, Ars Electronica, BeethovenFest, and the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival. He has collaborated with actor and choreographer Korhan Başaran on interdisciplinary projects, including Dido, presented at the İstanbul Theater Festival and Wortwiege’s Europa in Szene in Vienna. Yayalar holds degrees from Berklee College of Music and Istanbul Technical University, and earned his Ph.D. in composition from Harvard University in 2010. He is currently on the composition faculty at Bilkent University.
