Call for Audiovisual Works

Nuova Consonanza Association announces a call for audiovisual works.

The selected works will be presented during the 63rd edition of the Nuova Consonanza Festival, on a day to be held in Rome in December 2026 at Il Mattatoio di Roma – La Pelanda.

The call is open to all audiovisual authors and composers, regardless of nationality, and is reserved for those under 40 (born before December 31, 1987) in support of policies promoting emerging artists.

The works will be selected by an internal committee of Nuova Consonanza.

Priority will be given to works in which sound provides significant added value to the audiovisual experience. Works with multi-channel audio are also eligible.

The artistic direction reserves the right to evaluate proposals for future editions of the Nuova Consonanza Festival.

Participation is free.

Specifications for requested works:

Video:
4/3 or 16/9 format

File format: MP4 or MOV

Accepted codecs: ProRes, H264, H265, DNxHD

Multi-screen projections are not permitted.

The audio must be included in the video file, but must also be submitted separately (the video and audio files must have identical durations).

Accepted audio formats:
Uncompressed linear PCM (WAV)

Number of audio channels accepted:

Stereo
Quadriphonic
5.1
7.1
Ambisonic up to 7th order
Octophony (with channel numbering from 1 to 8 starting from the left and then clockwise)

The works will be broadcast during the concert using a single standard 7.1 system. Configurations using more channels than available will be adapted to this system using conversion algorithms.

The length of each work is not predetermined, but works with a maximum duration of 15 minutes will be preferred.

Each author may submit a maximum of two works.

Authors wishing to attend the screening will not be reimbursed for expenses.

How to register

Works must be submitted to Nuova Consonanza by September 1, 2026, exclusively by e-mail to call@nuovaconsonanza.it, and must include:

  • completed and signed registration form
  • a copy of a valid ID
  • biography (max 900 characters including spaces)
  • photography
  • notes on the work (max 1000 characters including spaces)

Texts must be in PDF format.

All audio files must be in high quality “wav” format and uploaded to a permanent storage service (for example, Dropbox or Google Drive)
